ComputersPh - Pinoy Webhosting Blog

May kasama itong ClamD (virus checker) at webstat.

From old site, click ‘Backups’ from cPanel and do a partial back-up of your home directory (you do not need a Full website Back-up because that will also back-up the system files).

You also need to download your MySQL Databases, Email forwarders and Email filters.

Save all files into your local drive.

Next, go to your new website cPanel by using the temporary address that your new webhost provided you (type into your browser example: http://123.45.67.89:2082/) and click ‘Backups’ from cPanel and do a Restore a Home Directory Backup, MySQL Database, Email Forwarders and Email filters.

Test your new website by typing into your browser http://123.45.67.89/~yourusername/ to make sure that you can get to your website without any problem.

Note:
* If you did not save any copy of your MySQL database user and password, you can open the config files of your website to locate the usename and password. Create and assigned the user in MySQL Database.
* http://123.45.67.89 represents the IP address that your new webhost has provided you, whatever follow those are required.

The last step is to go to your Domain Name server host and update the Domain name server with your new IP address. While the new Domain name server IP address is propagating in the internet, it may still use the old IP so there should be no noticeable downtime of your website.

Ikaw ay makakakita ng sagot na: Firewall is active and enabled on system startup.

Reading package lists… Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information… Done
After this operation, 3,420kB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? y

ComputersPh - Pinoy Webhosting Blog

I manage a few domains for a few clients (along with this domain ComputersPh.com) but have a couple of Domain providers, so instead of having to log-in to two different accounts, I decided to consolidate all of my managed Domains into one account.

So if you also decide to move your account away from GoDaddy, follow these steps to make the transition flawless. Make sure that you have the correct and current e-mail address in your GoDaddy account before you initiate the transfer.

Before you do this, you must have more than 7 days before your domain expires or you may have a difficulty doing the transfer. But if that happens, just renew your registration again then transfer your Domain at a later time.

Be aware that if you move your Domain to a new registrar, you will need to wait 60 days before you can transfer your Domain again.

The first step is to go to GoDaddy.com and sign-in to access your account.

Go to “Domain Manager” then click the Domain that you want to move.

In the Domain information, click “Manage”, then unlock the Domain.

Go down to the Authorization code then click “Send by Mail” because you will need this when you apply for the transfer on your new Domain provider.

If you have a Privacy Registration, go to the Domain Enhancement area and click “Manage”, this will open up another Browser that will take you to DomainsbyProxy.com website. <a title="How to cancel Domains by Proxy private registration" href="blog/?p=176" target="_self>Click here for step by step procedure on how to remove your privacy registration.

The last step is to go to your new Domain provider and initiate the actual Domain transfer. This will usually take 7 days to complete but if you are in a hurry and want this move to happen quicker, Click here

If you run into a problem with your transfer like I did, you can call their tech support, they should be able to help you. Everyone that I spoke to were very nice and helpful.

ComputersPh - Pinoy Webhosting Blog

To cancel your private registration, you will need to find your initial welcome e-mail from Domains by Proxy to get your user Id and password information.

In my welcome e-mail, the User Id are different than what I use with Godaddy but the password is the same during initial log-in. After my initial log-in, I changed my password. So if you also changed your password and have a security code or password hint but forgot your new password, you will be able to reset your password.

In the Private Domain panel, just place a check mark on the left side radio button beside the Private domains that you want to cancel (for more than 1 domain) click the “Cancel Selected” button at the bottom of the page then wait for a few minutes for the process to go through, then you are done.

Or if you prefer, you can also hover your mouse on the right side of the domain, and at the end, there is a cancel icon. You can click that icon to cancel your domain.
A confirmation page will pop-up, click Ok and you’re done.

Be aware that if you cancel your private registration, your personal contact information will be available to the public to see in the WHOIS directory.
